Climbing with Faith
One evening, Sarah’s dad gathered her and her little brother, Jack, in the living room. He held up a picture of a tall, snowy mountain.
“Do you remember when I climbed Mount Sunrise?” he asked.
Jack’s eyes grew wide. “The one with the snow at the top?”
“That’s the one,” Dad said. “It was the hardest thing I ever did. My legs hurt, my backpack was heavy, and the wind was so strong I thought I might be blown over. More than once, I felt like giving up.”
Sarah leaned forward. “But you made it to the top, right?”
Dad smiled. “Yes, but only because I had a guide. He knew the way, encouraged me when I was tired, and reminded me why I started. I leaned on him every step.”
Dad’s voice grew serious. “Jesus once told people that following Him is a little like climbing a big mountain. It takes planning and a willing heart. Sometimes life gets hard. We might face troubles, or feel tired, or even want to give up. But if we truly trust Him and put Him first, He will lead us through it all.”
Jack tilted his head. “So… Jesus is like your guide?”
“Exactly,” Dad said. “When life feels too hard, we can lean on Him. We might not see the top yet, but He’s always with us, giving strength, hope, and love.”
Sarah asked, “What did it feel like when you reached the top?”Dad’s face lit up. “It was amazing! The sky was so clear, the air was fresh, and I could see for miles. All the hard work was worth it. It reminded me of what happens when we keep following Jesus. Even through struggles, we discover His presence and love in beautiful ways.”
Moral: When life feels like a big mountain, remember this: with faith in Jesus, we can face any challenge. Lean on Him, and He will guide you to the top.
