Lily and the Miracle Hour
Lily was a curious little girl who loved exploring the world around her. Every Sunday morning, her family would dress up and go to church for Mass. Lily enjoyed some parts of Mass, like the songs and the beautiful stained-glass windows, but sometimes she wondered, Why is going to church so important?
One Saturday night, Lily asked her mom, “Why do we have to go to Mass every Sunday? Can’t I just pray at home?”
Her mom smiled gently. “That’s a great question, Lily. Mass is very special. Every Sunday, we come together to thank God for all of our blessings, to receive Jesus in the Eucharist, and to remember how much He loves us. It’s like filling up our hearts with His love for the whole week! For tomorrow, try to listen more with her heart and look for something beautiful you have not noticed before.”
The next morning, as they arrived at church, Lily noticed something different. The air felt warmer, the sunlight seemed brighter, and there was a peaceful feeling all around her. As the priest began Mass, Lily listened more carefully than ever.
During the homily, Father Joseph spoke about the “Miracle Hour.” He explained that when we come to Mass, we enter a special moment where Heaven and Earth meet. “Jesus is here with us in the Eucharist,” he said, “and this is a time to thank Him for His love, to be strengthened, and to be reminded that we are part of God’s family.”
Lily felt a little spark of excitement. Miracle Hour? she thought. That sounds amazing!
After Communion, Lily knelt with her family and closed her eyes. She whispered, “Thank You, Jesus, for this Miracle Hour.” She felt more peace in her heart than ever before.
On the way home, Lily asked her mom, “Is the Mass always like that? It felt so special today!” Her mom nodded. “It’s always special, Lily. Every time we are in the presence of God is special.”
special.”
From that day on, Lily started to look forward to Sunday Mass. She thought of it as her “Miracle Hour” with Jesus, a time to feel close to Him and her church family.
And Lily learned that Sunday wasn’t just any day—it was a day to celebrate God’s love and keep her heart shining bright.
The moral of the Story: Attending Sunday Mass is a special time to grow closer to Jesus, thank Him for His love, and be strengthened as part of God’s family. It’s a gift we should cherish every week!
