Peter’s Amazing Dream

One sunny afternoon, Peter sat under an olive tree, thinking about the story of the Transfiguration he had heard at Sunday school. He wondered, What did Jesus really look like on that mountain?

As his eyes grew heavy, Peter drifted into a dream. He found himself on a high mountain, surrounded by fluffy white clouds. Suddenly, he saw Jesus standing before him, but He looked different—extraordinary!

Jesus’ face shone brighter than the sun, warm and golden, like the first light of morning. His eyes sparkled with love and wisdom. His clothes were dazzlingly white, shimmering with shades of gold and silver, as if woven from the light of a thousand stars. A gentle breeze made His robes ripple, glowing with a heavenly light that made the whole mountain feel alive.

Beside Jesus stood two men—Moses and Elijah. They looked ancient and wise, their faces peaceful. They spoke with Jesus, their voices gentle and joyful, like the whisper of the wind.

Suddenly, a bright cloud surrounded them, softer than cotton candy and glowing with a golden light. From the cloud came a voice, powerful yet gentle, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to Him.”

Peter felt warmth fill his heart, like the sun’s rays on a chilly morning. He fell to his knees, his whole body tingling with awe and love.

In a blink, Peter was back under the olive tree. The sun was setting, painting the sky with pink and gold. He touched his face, still feeling the warmth from his dream.

With a wide smile, Peter whispered, “Jesus is more wonderful than I ever imagined.” He ran home, his heart full of wonder and ready to draw what he dreamt, to try and hold on to the amazing image as long as possible.Based on the Transfiguration in the Gospel of Luke. (Luke 9:28b-36)
