The Best Surprise Ever!
Three days after Jesus died, His friends were very sad. They missed Him so much. Early in the morning, some women went to the tomb where Jesus had been buried. But when they got there, something amazing had happened—the big stone was rolled away, and the tomb was empty!
An angel was there and said, “Jesus is not here. He is alive!”
The women were so surprised and happy! They ran to tell the others. Soon, all of Jesus’ friends learned the good news: Jesus had risen from the dead! He was alive again, just like He said He would be.
Jesus visited His friends and said, “Peace be with you.” They were so happy to see Him! They knew He would always be with them, no matter what.
That’s why Easter is the most special day of all for Christians. We celebrate that Jesus is alive, and His love is forever. On Easter, we sing, we pray, we laugh, we celebrate, and we thank God for the best surprise ever—Jesus is risen!
