The Bridge to Light

In a quiet village surrounded by hills, there was a deep canyon that separated two sides of the land.

On one side lived the villagers under the large castle high on a hill. On the other side was a beautiful wide-open meadow filled with flowers and full of sunshine. Everyone longed to go there, but there was no safe way across.

Years ago, people had tried building bridges. But each one fell apart.

“It’s too far,” they said. “We’ll never make it.”

Among the villagers lived a kind king who loved his people very much. He often stood on top of the castle wall, watching them.

“They don’t belong on this side,” he said softly. “They were made for the wide-open meadow.”

One day, the king made a decision.

“I will build a bridge,” he said.

“But it’s impossible!” his helpers cried.

“It will cost too much,” others warned.

The king nodded. “Yes,” he said. “It will cost everything.”

And so, he sent his own son, the prince, who was brave and strong and full of love.

The prince came to the village and worked day and night. He used the strongest wood, the brightest ropes, and beams that shone like light.

The villagers watched.

“Why are you doing this?” one asked.

“Because you are loved,” the prince said.

“But what if we don’t cross?” another wondered.

The prince looked at them kindly. “The bridge will be here for you. You only need to trust it, and walk across.”

At last, the bridge was finished.

Some villagers stepped forward right away.

“I trust the prince,” said a little girl named Elia. She took a deep breath and walked across. With each step, she felt lighter, happier, until she reached the sunny meadow and laughed with joy.

Others hesitated.

“What if it breaks?” one man said.

“What if I fall?” another worried.

So they stayed where they were.

The prince stood by the bridge, waiting.

“I didn’t build this to force you,” he said gently. “I built it so you can come home.”

Day after day, more people chose to cross. Each one discovered the same thing: the bridge was safe, and the meadow was more beautiful than they imagined.

But some still chose not to go.

And the prince never stopped inviting them.

Because the bridge wasn’t just wood and rope.

It was love.

And it was given to everyone.

Moral: God loves us so much that He gave us Jesus to bring us to Him. We are invited to trust Him and choose His love so that one day we may reach eternal salvation.
