The Farmer’s Seeds
One sunny day beneath the sky,
A farmer walked as birds flew by.
He filled his bag with seeds to sow,
Then scattered them in rows below.
With happy steps he tossed them wide,
Across the fields from side to side.
Some little seeds fell on the road.
They never found a cozy abode.
The birds flew down with cheerful song.
They gobbled up the seeds before long.
Some seeds fell where the rocks were near.
They sprouted fast with lots of cheer.
But when the sun grew hot and bright,
Their tiny roots held on too slight.
Without deep roots beneath the ground,
The little plants soon wilted brown.
Some seeds fell where the weeds grew high.
The thorny plants reached to the sky.
The weeds grew bigger every day
And pushed the little plants away.
They stole the water, light, and space.
The seeds could not keep up the race.
But other seeds found gentle ground,
The richest soil all around.
They stretched their roots both deep and wide,
With rain and sunshine as their guide.
Green stems reached up so straight and tall.
Soon flowers smiled for one and all.
Then fruits appeared in colors bright,
A joyful, happy, lovely sight!
The farmer grinned from ear to ear.
“A wonderful harvest grows right here!”
Now every heart can be like land.
The choice is ours to take a stand.
Will worries crowd God’s words away?
Or will we listen and obey?
Will kindness bloom in all we do?
Will faith grow strong inside of you?
When we pray, forgive, and gladly share,
God plants His love with gentle care.
His Word takes root and starts to grow,
So everyone His love may know.
So let your heart be rich each day,
Where God’s good seeds can find their way.
And when His love grows strong and true,
A harvest bright will bloom in you.
Moral: When we welcome God’s Word with open hearts, it grows into lives filled with faith, love, and kindness.
