The Invisible Helper
Lila loved building things, towers, bridges, even tiny cities made of colorful blocks.
But one day, her tower kept falling.
“I can’t do it!” she cried.
Her grandfather sat beside her. “Would you like some help?”
“But I want to do it myself,” Lila said.
He nodded. “I understand. But sometimes help doesn’t mean doing it for you.”
He showed Lila how to take a deep breath and fold her hands. “Think of the peace that comes from the Holy Spirit and try again. I’ll be right here.”
Lila did what her grandfather suggested and then started stacking. The tower wobbled, but this time, she felt calmer.
“How did you do that?” she asked.
“I didn’t,” he smiled. “You did. But you weren’t alone.”
Later that day, Lila asked, “Grandpa, will you always be here to help me?”
He paused. “I won’t always be right next to you. But love stays, even when you can’t see it. And God’s Spirit is always present.”
That night, Lila tried building again. She asked for God’s help and then remembered her grandfather’s voice: Slow down… steady hands… you can do this.
And her tower stood tall.
From then on, whenever she felt stuck or unsure, she folded her hands in prayer and remembered: she would have help, even if she couldn’t see it.
And she began to notice something else. When she listened carefully, she knew what was right, where to find peace, and how to try again.
It was like a quiet voice inside her heart.
She smiled. “I’m not alone,” she whispered.
Moral: Because Jesus loves us, he gives us a helper, the Holy Spirit, who stays with us and guides us from within.
