The Little Seed and the Faithful Helper

Once upon a time in a small village, there was a little girl named Emma. One day, her grandmother gave her the tiniest seed she had ever seen.

“This,” Grandma said, “is as small as a mustard seed, but when it grows, it becomes a big plant where birds can rest.”

Emma stared at the seed in her palm. “It’s so tiny! How could something so small do anything important?”

Grandma smiled. “Even the smallest faith in God can do great things. Just trust Him and keep doing what He asks, no matter how small it seems.”

Emma first planted the seed in a small cup and nurtured it.  When it was ready, she planted the beginning plant in the ground. Every day she watered it, pulled away weeds, and made sure it had sunlight. Sometimes she felt tired and wanted to give up, but she remembered Grandma’s words. “God can use even a little,” she told herself.

A few months later, the seed grew into a tall, leafy plant. Small birds came and perched on it, singing sweet songs. Emma’s heart filled with joy.

She ran to Grandma. “Look what my little seed did!”

Grandma hugged her. “Yes, but remember, Emma—it was God who made it grow. You did your part by caring for it, just as a servant does what is asked. We don’t do good things to get praise—we do them because we love God.”

From then on, Emma remembered that no act of kindness was too small, and by believing and having faith, she showed her love for Jesus.

Moral: Even the smallest faith in God can do big things. And when we serve God and others, we do it humbly—not for praise, but because it’s the right thing.
