The Locked Door and the Gentle Breeze

The clubhouse door was locked.

“What if they find us?” whispered Noah.

Inside, a group of friends huddled together.

“They won’t,” said Emma, but her voice shook.

They had made a bad choice earlier that day, and now they were afraid of getting in trouble.

Suddenly, the window creaked open.

A soft breeze entered the room.

“Did you feel that?” asked Leo.

The air felt different, calm, peaceful.

Then they felt something in the air, not loud, not scary, but gentle.

There was a warm feeling that “All will be okay.”

Fear began to fade.

“What if tell our parents what happened?” Emma said.

“What if they’re mad?” Noah asked.

“Maybe,” she said. “But we can say sorry.”

The others nodded.

They unlocked the door.

Step by step, they walked back.

Their hearts beat fast, but not with fear anymore.

When they arrived, they told the truth.

And something surprising happened.

They were forgiven.

Later, back in the clubhouse, Leo smiled.

“That breeze… it brought me courage.”

Emma nodded. “Like the Holy Spirit was helping us be brave.”

From that day on, whenever they felt afraid, they remembered:

God’s peace and encouragement can come even when doors are locked.

And sometimes, the strongest help feels like a quiet breath of courage inside your heart.

Moral: Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus brings peace, gives us courage, and helps us forgive one another.

Inspired by John 20:19–23.
