The Prince of Truth
In a kingdom far, far away, there was a kind and humble prince named Jonathan. The people expected Jonathan to become a powerful king one day, ruling with great armies and riches like the kings of other lands. But Jonathan was different—he didn’t seek riches or power. Instead, he cared deeply for the truth and helping others.
One day, a group of children gathered around Jonathan and asked, “When you become king, will you have a grand throne and a big army like the kings we’ve heard about?”
Jonathan smiled gently and said, “My kingdom is not like the ones you see in this world. I am not here to rule with power or to seek riches. I have come to show the truth—the truth that love, kindness, and listening to God’s voice are more important than any riches or armies.”
The children were puzzled. “But how will people follow you if you don’t have soldiers or treasures?” a boy named Peter asked.
Jonathan knelt down and said, “Those who belong to the truth will hear my voice and follow me, not because I am powerful or rich, but because I speak what is true and good. My kingdom is one of love, justice, and peace.”
As the children listened, they began to understand. Jonathan’s kingship was different—it wasn’t about controlling others, but about guiding people to live in truth and kindness. And those who followed him did so because they loved the truth, not because they feared his power.
From that day, the children learned an important lesson: true kingship is not about having the most power, but about leading others with truth and love, just like Jesus, who came to show the world what it means to follow Him – the way, the truth, and the life. (John 14:6)

A children’s story based on the The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe: Jesus clarifies that He came into the world to testify to the truth, and those who belong to the truth listen to His voice. This passage highlights Jesus’ divine mission and the nature of His kingship, which transcends worldly power and authority, based on John 18:33b-37.
