The Search for Love
(A continuation of last week’s story, Jonah and the Wind’s Message)
As winter grew near, the wind grew quieter. Jonah still listened every morning, but the whispers were not as loud as before. He began to wonder if he had heard the wind correctly. Had he made a mistake? Was someone truly coming?
One day, Jonah felt unsure. A little cloud of worry hung over his heart. So, he decided to ask for help. He went to visit his two good friends, Mira and Dan. They were good listeners, and Jonah trusted them.
“I need you to look for something,” Jonah said. “Or maybe someone. The wind told me someone wonderful was coming. But now I am not sure. Can you look around town and see if anything new is happening?”
Mira and Dan nodded. “We can do that,” they said. “We will walk through the town and look for signs.”
They walked all day. They looked in the meadow. They looked near the river. They looked in the marketplace. They watched carefully.
At sunset, the two friends hurried back to Jonah. Their faces were bright.
“Jonah!” Mira said. “A blind man at the park can see now!”
“And a little girl who couldn’t walk stood up today,” Dan added. “A traveler helped her, and she walked for the first time!”
“And an old woman who was lonely,” Mira said softly, “received warm clothes and food today from a stranger.”
Jonah’s eyes grew wide. His heart felt warm. “These are good signs,” he said. “These are very good signs.”
Mira nodded. “Someone special has arrived in our town. We saw some of the people who had been helped. We saw people express joy and hope because of him.”
Jonah felt peaceful. The wind’s message was true after all. The good things happening all around them showed it.
That evening, Jonah walked out to the edge of the forest. He listened again.
The wind whispered, gently and clearly, “Yes, Jonah. The One you waited for is here.”
Jonah smiled. He had prepared the town. And now the wonderful visitor had come.
