Thomas and the Missing Puzzle Piece

In a small, quiet town, there lived a curious boy named Thomas who loved solving puzzles. One sunny day, his friends gathered in the park with a big surprise—a giant, colorful puzzle of a big, beautiful sunrise! Everyone helped put the pieces together, laughing and chatting. But Thomas was running late.
By the time he arrived, the puzzle was almost finished. “You won’t believe it, Thomas!” said Lily. “When we placed the last piece, it glowed! Just for a second—it was amazing!”
Thomas looked at the puzzle. “I don’t see anything glowing now,” he said. “Are you all just joking with me?”
“No, really!” said Ben. “It happened!”
But Thomas crossed his arms. “I’ll believe it only if I see it with my own eyes.”
The next day, they met again. Thomas noticed one piece was missing. “Oh no!” he cried. “The puzzle won’t be complete without that piece!”
Then Lily reached into her pocket. “I kept it safe for you, Thomas. We wanted you also to have a chance to place the last piece.”
Thomas took it gently and placed it in the puzzle. As he did, a gentle light began to shimmer across the puzzle, causing the rising sun to shine brightly. His eyes widened. “You were telling the truth! I’m sorry I didn’t believe you.”
Lily smiled. “It’s okay, Thomas. Sometimes, it’s hard to believe something unless you see it yourself.”
Thomas nodded. “Next time, I want to believe with more than just my eyes. I want to see with my heart too.”
Lily added, “That’s called faith—believing even when we can’t see everything. And that kind of seeing is really special.”
Thomas smiled. “Then I’ll start using my eyes of faith.”A children’s story based on John 20:19-31: Just like the disciple Thomas, we sometimes need help to believe what we can’t see. Jesus gently guided Thomas to believe and said, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.” Faith helps us see with our hearts, trusting in Jesus even when our eyes cannot.
