Who is Thankful?

There were a bunch of friends who loved to play together in the park, but one day they all got covered in itchy, red spots. The spots spread everywhere, and soon other children wouldn’t come near them, which made them feel sad.

That same afternoon, a kind doctor came walking by. He looked at them with gentle eyes and said, “Go to show your parents your rash and tell them to apply cold water with a little oatmeal.”

Even though they still felt itchy, they trusted the doctor and went home. They told their parents what the doctor said, and after the treatment, their spots disappeared! Their skin was smooth again.

Most of the children ran off laughing and playing, too excited to think of anything else. But one boy stopped. He ran back to the park, and found the doctor, and said, “Thank you! Thank you for helping us!”

The doctor smiled. “Your thankfulness shows that you have a caring heart. Keep it up, so your friends may one day learn from you.”

Moral: God loves it when we remember to say, “Thank you.” Gratitude shows our faith and makes us whole.

Based on Luke 17:11–19.
